‘Careers in Law’ Law Society Trip

‘Careers in Law’ Law Society Trip

On Friday 18th November a group of 7 year 11 students were given the opportunity to attend a ‘Careers in Law’ event at The Law Society on Chancery Lane. The students were able to participate in a case study with a group of qualified lawyers. This was followed by a Q&A with a panel of law professionals (Solicitors, Barristers, Law Clerks, etc).

Finding out that some barristers can earn £850 an hour was a revelation to all the students who attended. Finally the students were able to experience a mock trial, with some students chosen to form the jury (Daddy Bear was found not guilty of ABH against Goldielocks).

It was a great day for the students and gave them a real insight into life as a legal professional and what they need to be doing to make a career in law a reality. Afterwards all of the students said that it had made them more interested in a career in the law.
