Welcome to Isaac Newton Academy

I am delighted to introduce you to Isaac Newton Academy, a new, purpose-built school in Ilford. Our prospectus should give you a flavour of this exciting educational opportunity for your son or daughter. I would also encourage you to browse our website and/or to arrange to visit us to find out more.

Isaac Newton Academy is a non-denominational, non-selective school, welcoming girls and boys from all backgrounds from the local community. The secondary school opened with just 180 Year 7 students in September 2012. Each year it will welcome another cohort of pupils until it has 1250 11-18 year olds in 2018 (including a sixth form of 350). The first few cohorts will have the unique experience of being the founding year groups of the school. They will receive close individual attention and will be offered a range of leadership opportunities as the oldest students and role models.

In September 2014, Isaac Newton Academy will open a primary phase in purpose-built accommodation right next to the secondary academy. It will be 3 form entry primary school, with 90 children in each year group. Like the secondary school, it will grow a year group at a time, starting with three reception classes in September 2014.

The opportunity to create a new school from nothing is a rare and golden one. I feel extremely privileged to have had this opportunity as Isaac Newton Academy’s Principal. I am committed to providing an inspirational and life-enhancing educational experience for all the young people who attend the academy and shall work tirelessly to ensure that each and every student is supported and stretched to reach their full potential. This is my third Headship and I have gained a depth of leadership experience in a variety of London schools over the past 23 years.

I very much look forward to meeting you and to working with you and your sons and daughters to create a truly great school.
