INA CEIAG 2015-16
As part of on-going Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) at INA, work experience is designed to provide students with an inspirational placement where they develop their BRIDGES skills in a new environment. They should be collaborating and building learning relationships with professionals while developing a deeper understanding of potential future careers and empathy of other work places.
The placements will occur in the summer term of year 10 with a duration of 5 consecutive days Monday – Friday.
Work experience will occur from June 20-24
Students will be required to complete a CV and a job/person specification through PSHE and independent study which INA will utilise to match to available placements. We will strive to not place more than one student in the same placement.
Students will be set a project which they will work through during their placement and which they will present a summary of when back in school.
We would like all members of staff to help us in sourcing placements. If everyone could find us 3 quality placements we would be in a really strong position to offer the students a wide and varied choice.
The staff member should get verbal agreement to the list of work experience requirements (see below) and contact details; name, telephone and email and pass to MCG by Monday 2nd November please.
Potential links for placements might include family, friends, local businesses etc…
Student sourced placements
Students may source their own placement which would need to be agreed with INA but it must not be with a family member and there must be more than one adult employed at all time the student is present.
Employers offering placements will need to complete an agreement and send details of dress, days, times, tasks and any specific information.
Employers must have a Health and Safety policy and Public Liability Insurance.
Placements should be easily reachable from INA by public transport.
Students should not be working in a confined space with a single employer (safeguarding reasons).
Students should not work with friends/family but parents can offer placements to other students.
Thank you very much in advance for your effort to help us to source placements.
