Welcome

I am delighted to introduce you to Isaac Newton Academy, a brand new, purpose-built school in Ilford. Our prospectus should give you a flavour of this exciting educational opportunity for your son or daughter. I would also encourage you to browse our website and/or to arrange to visit us to find out more.

Isaac Newton Academy is a non-denominational, non-selective school, welcoming girls and boys from all backgrounds from the local community. The secondary school opened with just 180 Year 7 students in September 2012. Each year it will welcome another cohort of pupils until it has 1250 11-18 year olds in 2018 (including a sixth form of 350).

In September 2014, Isaac Newton Academy opened a primary phase which has just moved into purpose-built accommodation right next to the secondary academy. We currently have 90 reception children at the primary school, under the leadership of Tam Broadway, Head of Primary. INA Primary will be 3 form entry primary school, with 90 children in each year group. Like the secondary school, it will grow a year group at a time.

The opportunity to create a new school from scratch is a rare and golden one. I joined the academy as Vice Principal prior to it opening and helped shape its vision and ethos.  I am committed to providing an inspirational and life-enhancing educational experience for all the young people who attend the academy. Our staff work tirelessly to ensure that each and every student is supported and stretched to reach their full potential.

I very much look forward to meeting you and to working with you and your sons and daughters to continue building a truly great school.

Jo Spencer

Interim Principal
