This will be in the form of small group and/or 1:1 tuition for students identified has having been adversely impacted due to the pandemic. This support will ensure these students have their knowledge and attainment gaps closed; supporting them to reach their chosen destinations.
Summer School 2021
From 9th August 2021 we hosted a summer school for our new Year 7 students to support with their transition to secondary school. We felt it important to support the integration of our first cohort of INA Year 7 students, with students joining INA from other primary schools. The summer school was a huge success and is something we want to try and deliver moving forward, with 150 students attending.
Below is a summary of the activities:
- Every day students began to familiarise themselves with key aspects of academy life, such a tutor time. Here they all read the same book throughout the week.
- Students had a range of activities each day, such as English, Science, Maths, PE and creative activities such as T-shirt making.
- On Friday 13th, students had a festival day, that included a bouncy castle, photobooth, inflatable obstacle course, ice-cream van and a range of other fun activities.
The summer camp formed part of the national Covid-19 recovery scheme and was funded by the Department for Education. Details of the summer school funding claims:
