Safeguarding

The welfare and safety of our students is our priority. We do everything possible to ensure our students’ safety, both within the school community and outside of school, including working with relevant agencies to address any issues related to child protection.
Students are informed of who they should go to should they have a concern about their own safety or the safety of others.
At INA, all staff have regular safeguarding training to ensure that they are able to meet their statutory responsibilities. We also have a number of staff who are designated to respond to any child protection concerns and to liaise with social services:
Designated Safeguarding Staff |
Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
|
Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)
|
Designated Child Protection Officers

Support during school closure
If you would like to discuss any concerns you have, you can contact the school by:
- Calling the school on: 020 8911 6666
- Emailing: Safeguarding@isaacnewtonacademy.org
Please make sure you leave your full name and year group in the email. This will help us respond to your request effectively.
Your wellbeing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is important, especially when having to stay at home for this period of time. This includes a healthy diet, sleeping well and exercising. The PE department have shared some ideas for staying active at home on year group Edmodo pages.
You can also have social contact with loved ones at home, and virtually through your phone or online with other family and friends. Make sure you take breaks between your learning and set a schedule that works for you to connect to others.
Online Safety whilst completing your learning online will mean that you need to be really aware of staying safe. If you are worried about online abuse or the way someone has been communicating online, report this to your parents/carers or on CEOP. In such situations, the best thing to do is block the person, and then report it on https://www.ceop.police.uk (we have put some links below to some helpful guides to staying safe online).
Parents/ Carers - there are a range of agencies who can support you if you are finding this time challenging, please do contact us at school, or see the links to agencies below.
