INA Celebrates Annual Community Party

INA Community Party 2017

On Tuesday 12th December 2017, Isaac Newton Academy held their annual Community Party. The party welcomed local elderly residents as well as key members of the Redbridge community for an afternoon of music, food and festive fun. A number of staff and students volunteered to help with the greeting, serving, chatting and entertainment. Students provided entertainment throughout the event, including music and drama performances as well as playing Bingo. All guests were given a gift in which students donated money towards and purchased by themselves.

Mr Clift-Matthews, Assistant Principal, said “The Isaac Newton Academy Community Party is always a fun-filled afternoon of music, food and entertainment. Students donate their own pocket money to buy presents for each guest and we all really enjoy working towards such a rewarding event. The quality of donations this year was truly a testament to the wonderful community spirit of our students.  It is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the festive season with our local community.”

The Mayor of Redbridge, Cllr Linda Huggett, attended the party and said “It is a very welcoming, friendly and caring event and it is lovely for the school to invite so many care homes. I walked around all of the tables and met the local residents, all of whom were really enjoying themselves. Some of the guests have attended the event on many occasions and they thoroughly look forward to this day. It is a good start to the Christmas period.”

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed towards such a successful event.
