Computer science drives today’s fundamental technologies. It is our aim at Isaac Newton Academy to provide all students with an understanding of the fundamental principles of computer science through a broad and balanced programme of study. This programme of study focuses on the three main areas of Computer Science, Information Technology and Digital Literacy. By delivering a rich curriculum that will enable our students to create innovative solutions to real world problems and inspires them to take a place at the forefront of an ever-changing digital world, we hope to provide all students with the tools necessary to progress into further education and beyond.

We currently follow the AQA 8520 course with Python as our programming language.

Students completed most theory aspects in Year 10. Remaining theory is covered in Autumn 1 of Year 11. Autumn 2 and Spring 1 of Year 11 are used to prepare and complete the NEA (20% of final grade). The remaining time is for revision and exam preparation.
