This year's Enrichment Day gave Year 8 students a hands-on experience in 'Food Technology,' allowing them to develop cooking, product design, and creative writing skills. Students rotated through three exciting sessions.
In the first session, Pizza Making, they learned about the history of pizza and the steps involved in creating this classic dish. Students practiced essential kitchen skills, such as chopping and kneading, and each made their own individual pizza.
Next, in a Product Design session, students explored the use of AI in branding, designing logos for their pizza boxes. This introduced them to digital design and the role of technology in the world of design today.
Finally, the day wrapped up with a Creative Writing session, where students learned about copywriting and crafted advertisements for their pizzas. Those with the most compelling ads had the chance to record a voiceover for their own pizza commercials.
As you can see from the photos Year 8 students had an engaging and inspiring day, gaining skills that set them up as future chefs, designers, and advertisers!
