Welcome from our Designated Safeguarding Leads

We want members of the Isaac Newton community to confidently share their concerns and seek advice when needed. Care, respect and integrity are key principles of our safeguarding practice, and we strive to ensure that all students experience high quality pastoral support throughout their time at Isaac Newton Academy.

Our Academy provides a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment which supports our students to engage in a range of powerful learning experiences in the classroom, and during our wider enrichment curriculum activities. Our pastoral curriculum is embedded through the BRIDGES and RSE (Relationships and Sex Education) frameworks and promotes the social, moral, spiritual, cultural and physical development of all students.

At Isaac Newton Academy, safeguarding matters are treated in a sensitive, respectful and professional manner. All staff engage in safeguarding training throughout the course of the year and are aware of INA response and reporting procedures. This ensures that all staff remain vigilant and are able to support children and families as and when needed. The DSL and wider the Safeguarding Team work in partnership with local statutory and community services, for example Local Authority Inclusion services, Children’s Social Care, CAMHS and the Police. The team are highly experienced and are aware of local reporting thresholds, processes and contextual safeguarding matters.

On this page you will find information about Child Protection and Safeguarding including topics such as E-safety, preventing harmful sexualised behaviour, PREVENT, FGM and Child Sexual Exploitation. Our Safeguarding Policy, visitor leaflets and parent/carer guides.
