INA students secure apprenticeships at top firms

Whilst most students at the end of Year 13 choose to continue their academic career at university, we are seeing an increasing number of students take up the option of continuing their studies alongside the beginning of their working career at degree-level apprenticeships. This path, which combines working full-time alongside further study is increasingly becoming an option of choice for our students, who are keen to get in to work for some of the country’s best companies, carving out their career, whilst studying and being paid.

It is something that we have actively adapted our Careers education to address, providing support and guidance with interviews, application support and opportunities to meet employers for this wanting to follow this path. The plans of two such students who will be starting an apprenticeship next year are below:

Krish Patel will be working with Bloomberg, having achieved ABB in Economics, Computer Science and Psychology. Krish said, “I am really pleased with my results knowing that all of my hard work has paid off and I look forward to starting my career with Bloomberg”.

Amman Rai will be working for PWC, having achieved ABB in Economics, Biology and English. Amman said “I am so happy to be starting my apprenticeship with PWC after a lengthy application process, this wouldn’t be possible without the exceptional support from all of the sixth form teachers and I am very grateful for all of their support.”

We are hugely proud of the roles that these students are taking up and their professionalism in going straight into two high-powered working environments. Places on these apprenticeships are highly competitive, often more so than university places, and both Krish and Amman have been required to be immensely committed to secure them, attending multiple assessment centres and responding well to feedback and knock-backs in order to get to where they want to. We wish them the best of luck and can’t wait to see what they achieve
